The Power Of Video Marketing…An Essential Part Of Your Business.

by Andrew Potter on August 17, 2010

Don’t all start running for the hills at the mention of video marketing!!!

As Internet marketers we know how essential and powerful video is as a medium to reach the masses… and although frightening to some it is a must in order to promote “YOU” and your business.

With the continued growth of YouTube the prospect of reaching out to a global audience is amazing… having started in February 2005 by 3 PayPal employees, it is owned now by Google who purchased it for the sum of $1.65 billion, and the site keeps growing.

So what can video do for you and your business?

Lets just look at the basics first.

People love to connect to people… it’s a known fact! Building up the rapport with your future prospect/customer is essential. Engaging in a dialogue through video allows them to see what you are like and how genuine you come across, so building up your confidence with your speech is crucial.

Having the belief in yourself and your products is also important; if you believe then others will too. But the hardest part is feeling confident in YOU if you are wracked with nerves and are in a state of panic.

We do know that is the case with some people… we have been there ourselves and it can be off putting to even think about broadcasting to the masses. But there is a way of overcoming this fear and producing some great quality video’s.

Preparation!

Yep… sounds obvious but this is the backbone of your production and not to be taken lightly. So starting off with a great script is a good starting point.

  • Script preparation is crucial and has to incorporate all that you want to get across; work on bullet points and spend time adding your content to each part… worthwhile for you to get the flow.
  • Organise your background in preparation for filming… opt for a space that is going to look professional and has few distractions. The last thing you want is to take the audiences eyes away from you.
  • Dress in a professional manner (unless you are filming something that leads you to be dressed differently) maintaining that air of prosessionalism is important.
  • Practice, practice, practice… the more times you do it the better you will become.
  • Don’t always aim for perfection as this can take time, aim to have your video at a level that you are happy with and upload it. People will again see the real you and as time goes by you will have more experience and confidence.
  • Enjoy yourself… might sound cliche but if you look like you are having fun you will connect with your audience.

Video marketing is booming and a must for all Internet marketers… join in… it’s great.

Until next time.
